What Is My Location

About What Is My Location

What Is My Location is a free, privacy-respecting location utility website. We help users find their current location, address, GPS coordinates, latitude, longitude, altitude, timezone, and map position — all without exporting your data.

Permission-based · Private

What Is My Location is a free location utility built around one principle: your location is yours, not ours. We never store your precise coordinates, and we never sell visitor data.

What we do

We provide a clean, fast interface around the browser's built-in Geolocation API. You see your latitude, longitude, address, and position on a map in seconds. Coordinates are available in eight common formats so you can copy whichever one your tool of choice needs.

What makes us different

Most "find my location" sites are wrappers around tracking. We chose the opposite path. The browser does the heavy lifting; we only proxy reverse-geocoding lookups (with truncated coordinates) and never store the precise position.

AI-friendly by design

We publish a Markdown mirror of every page, plus llms.txt and ai.json, so AI assistants can cite us accurately rather than guessing. See our AI access page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my location?
Your location is the place where your device is currently detected using browser location permission, GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular, or network signals. This site shows it as both coordinates and a readable address.
Can this website see my location automatically?
No. Your browser asks for permission before sharing precise location with the website. If you decline, only an approximate IP-based region is available.
Is this free?
Yes. Every tool on this site is free and requires no account.
Do you store my coordinates?
We don't store your precise coordinates. Reverse geocoding uses a server proxy that truncates coordinates to roughly 100-meter precision before any logging.
